I'm not sure what is causing your problem, but rather than CD's, I ripped all of my CD's on my PC, then copied them on a 16 Gigabyte thumbdrive and don't even bother with CD's at all. Where on earth would you store CD's anyway. Not much space for that in a Corvette. The thumbdrive I have is smaller than my little fingernail and cost about $15. Much better solution.
In addition I also put 5 or 6 audio books on that drive. You can check out audio books from local library. You aren't supposed to rip them, but you can. Only tricky thing I found is that track numbering and disk numbering is often inconsistent within one book (I think they do that to discourage what I did), and the Infotainment system does a poor job of recognizing correct order. I found I had to do a lot of pc work to assign disk and track numbers and book name so that book would play straight through. That is a GM vendor problem (I had many hours on phone with GM support, but fact is that the manual lies when it comes to setting up directories), but worth the work to sort it out if you are taking a long trip.
