I've loved Corvettes since I was 10 years old. When I was a kid I had no money. I was married at 19 and had two kids at 22. And then life happened and a Corvette didn't fit in. I retired in 2015. The kids were grown up and on their own. I'm not rich but I have a little money. In 2017 I told my wife I wanted a Corvette. She said, "You don't need a Corvette." I said, "Nobody on God's green Earth needs a Corvette. It's a want." I knew I had one shot at this. At age 68 I was probably only going to have one Corvette. It had to be all I could get in my budget. I joined the Corvette Forum and went looking. I had narrowed my selection down to a couple of options. I really love C-1s and C-2s but nice ones can push $100k or more. I like the C-7s too, but again budget was an issue. I decided on a C-6 wide body. I found several and almost bought 2 different ones before thinking better of it. Then I  found a 5 year old 2012 Grand Sport with 12,850 miles on it in Georgia 600 miles away from me in South Florida. The car had been garage kept since new. It has the ebony 4LT trim package with yellow stitching, yellow calipers, Billy Boat Fusion exhaust, Z-06 rear spoiler and front splitter. And the car came with a transferable extended warranty. The seller said the car was flawless. The week before Christmas a buddy and I rented a car and made the drive to Georgia. I turned in the rental car and drove my new to me Velocity Yellow Corvette home. I'm still looking for a flaw in the car and haven't found one yet. I drove the car to the Daytona 500 in 2018. I drove the car 13 laps on the Homestead Speedway at 123 mph in 2021. It's probably my only Corvette unless I hit the lotto. If I do I'll get a C-8 Z06. Until then I'm very happy with what I have.
