Yea, have had once in the summer when it was hot a few years ago. Came back next morning and started up and was OK. When recall came, dealer ordered fix for manaul. RE-ordered, next time came in they couldn't find it. Gave up. No problems till this summer and had it a few times. Took out my command start and now have not had a problem.

Yes, it happened after I had put 17,000 miles on my Y2K coupe, almost 2 years ago. I had purchased the bypass before it happened upon hearing all the complaints. However, I had become over confident and felt it wouldn't happen to me and kept the bypass in the box. Then one cool morning I was a victim. Tried everything to get it freed. Only thing that worked was the steering wheel rotation trick while cycling the ignition key. Once freed, I immediately installed the bypass.
