Take the car out for a spin ... use the brakes.  It's a matter of fresh, exposed metal, meeting the elements.  I would not want to put ANYTHING on rotors, as it would likely have a negative impact upon its ability to stop the car properly.  It's like the old joke about the disgruntled woman who constantly nagged at her husband about the squeaking brakes brakes on her car.  The husband asked if she wanted him to OIL THE BRAKES!?

Other than that, does anyone else have input?

Or, instead of rotor center covers, you can use High Temp paint in a color of your choice.  Just be sure to protect the rotor surface so that paint only goes to the hub.

sure you can paint rotor centers  but the chrome center covers sure look good behind chrome zo6 wheels  you can also get stainless steel outer brake pad covers look great if you are a detail freak like me

My Vette had surface rust on the rotors when I bought it. According to dealer it had sat in showroom from Dec '08 until I bought it in Aug '09.  Came off line Bowling Green Nov '08. All I did was drive it. When it (Vette) is really new they tell you not to use 'heavy brakes'. Just putting around will take care of it. The peice the rotor mounts on will not rust. Not to worry.

Actually this is NOT the problem. The rust is on the hub area, not the surface of the rotor that will disappear when the brakes are applied. Because the rotors are cast and not stainless steel, the rotor hubs and the area around the inside will rust eventually.

Since the original post I have painted the area with a similar factory grey ceramic paint. I have tried to upload a picture, but the file is too large to show you before painting.

I removed my wheels, sanded the area, masked the discs and used a high temp paint as close to the gray/bluish GM paint as possible.  It makes a hugh difference.  I bet someone will sell a paint matching the original hub paint color on C6's eventually.

My 07 has not had the rust problem but my friends 08 did have this same problem. Our local Chevrolet dealer cleaned and painted, or had painted, the rusted areas! It was very unsightly and should not have been an issue. If your still on warranty insist that your dealer take care of this problem!
