The C6 User's Manual doesn't mention it, nor will the Chevy dealer service your clutch fluid, but if you have a manual transmission with more than several thousand miles on it, check your clutch fluid reservoir and you will see how dirty and gunky the fluid is.You probably also noticed that your clutch doesn't behave like it did when newer. The fluid should be checked every several fill-ups and and new fluid added. To clean an excessively dirty fluid, get the Dot3 or dot4 brake fluid and a turkey baster. (Be sure to prevent the fluid from getting on your paint - very corrosive). Remove as much fluid as possible with the baster, add new fluid, and put cover back on reservoir. Pump clutch eight to ten times or more, then repeat the process. Do the whole process several times til the fluid is clear.

Absolutely true on the clutch fluid changing.

GM has a TSB that states the correct change interval is 2 years/24k miles on all c6.  DOT 4 is the specification for the brake fluid.

Now, that being said, clutch fluid turning black is considered NORMAL and will not create clutch durability issues.

The brake fluid is a lubricant and thus the reason why operation feels smoother after it.

Just make sure the baster method is NOT the only thing you do.

You have a 9mm bleeder screw on the slave cylinder that should be used after you drop the exhaust pipe and the tunnel plate.
