Squeaky brakes

I have an 05 C6, I have done quite a bit of reading on the brakes and I can say that mine squeak A LOT, is there a sure fire way of getting them to stop. Some have advised hard breaking others have said replace with ceramic pads.

 

Also, have problems shifting from 1st to 2nd any advice in that area as well would be appreciated.. thankx

Hi Squeky,
 
I have a 05 C6 Z51. I had the same problem also with way too much brake dust. The was a service bulletin fot the Z51 that provided for replacing the shoes with a different type. Mine was done under warranty some time ago. Check with your dealer.

Vette(s): 2008 1lt z51 mz6 Crystal red corvette coupe.
Squeaky brakes have been around for 5 years now in the c6.GM had them warrantied for all of about 6 minutes till they realized the scope of the complaints.Then they said "IT'S NORMAL"!!!No more warranty. I fixed mine (05 mn6 z51) this way.I got up to about 50mph and hit the brakes steady and hard till I stopped.I did this 5 or 6 times in a row and the problem went away.No squeaks in my 16000 mile 08 yet.
