Vette(s): 03 6spd Coupe-quicksilver metallic-Corsa indy cat backs and X-pipe, Vararam, Baer Eradsipeed Plus one rotors, Billet Chrome Exhaust, lowered 1", 19" CCW 505A's (sweetest wheels on the planet), shortened shifter, cags delete.
Come now people. First off, this is mere speculation. Rumor mill at best. If you want get depressed, as if winter isn't depressing enough, go ahead. Supposed insider is not fact, not even close. It's girl talk.
Years ago it could be said and written how GM vasilated on and off with it's committment to the Corvette. Yes, it came close to even being dropped, that was long ago.
GM management today spends a fortune in time and resources combining the efforts of a team to put together a category/segment specific sports car that will be a performer hands down. The Corvette marque is so important to flatline sales of other GM products.
The 24 hours at LeMans was hard earned. I'm sure GM infrastructure knows all too well to allow the victories to fade very long from memory.Transfer of technology as it is, sells cars. This is fact. The Japs give us a spanking in this area. American builders are going to class on this. When you've got a winner like a Vette, you can be pretty much be assured it's somebodies livlihood on the line here.
Bring a team to the Super Bowl or World Series and then call a few bone-head plays and loose it all due to your lack of foresight, possible not probable. You know all too well what it took to get there, the long suffering and the cost.
I'd say hold on to your hats. This cars'gonna rock your worlds. If you think the C5 was the Corvette of all Corvettes. You'll soon be asking, "who's your daddy".
