I discussed Museum delivery for my C6. You are charged the added fee for the Museum delivery. The standard transport delivery charge remains as part of your purchase price. You can allow transport delivery after seeing the Museum display and associated personal attention. Payment of the standard transport charge is not deleted, regardless of whether you drive your car home from Bowling Green or opt to then allow transport to your home dealer. The Order Book does not say pick your choice of delivery options. The Museum is an added charge!!!!! Sorry. This give me pause about this "Museum" experience being worth $1300.00.
Maybe not.

Yje shipping charges are negotiated between GM and the delivery co. For every product they sell. Wether it's shipped across from the plant or across the country it's the same.
The Car Is Shipped across the street. The experiance is something to remember and makes the car more special. If the car is just a car to you, then of course it's not worth the money. But if you are a car person and a Vette is more than just a car, it's a lifestyle. Then it is so worth the money you won't believe it until you've done it.
I have , and would do it on everyone I add to the family in the future.

It was a great experience. I had by 2000 as a museum delivery. There was not a blemish on it when I first saw it. (And I mean not one imperfection) I am having my C6 delivered at the plant and then taking a 2 week vacation up the coast and to the 1000 islands and then back to Scottsdale Arizona.

I also am planning a Bowling Green pick up. Flying in and driving home and racking 2,000 miles back to Southern California.

When the money is raised and the expansion is built on the
Museum, they will be able to make the experience even
better. They are cramped now and have to sometimes spread
the deliveries out some.
I don't know who does the organizing to arrange for you
to walk along with your car when it is being built now,
but Bob Breeding did it prior to his retirement on
June 30, 2003 and he did a terrific job. If one has the
time or can make two trips to Bowling Green to also take
Museum Delivery, that would be the ultimate for the real
enthusiast. The factory workers even get excited when
you are walking along your car.

Bob's replacements name is Lynn and can be reached at his old extension. They actually make you feel like Jay Leno or some other super star car person. You really get the treatment by the factory workers once they find out YOU are walking Your Car.

Is that to say that non-R8C cars are not built with as much attention to detail?
