On the C-6 you will notice that the Dual Tips coming out of the muffler have internal holes on the inside surfaces. This is to eliminate high RPM hissing noise coming from the exhaust.

Exhaust outlets are chrome plated tips.

Exhaust is stainless steel, aluminized stainless steel at rear of catalytic converter.

NOTE: There are various main exhaust system material:
1. Carbon steel
2. Stainless steel
3. Aluminized steel
4. Titanium steel (on Z06)
5. Aircraft quality stainless steel

I saw a picture of the exhaust on the C 6 and enlarged it on my computer. From what I can see it looks like only one of the tips on each side is actually open and the other is just for looks. This was the case on my 1985, only one of the tips was open. I looked at my 2001 and both are open. If anyone knows the answer pls indicate. Also with the new keyless starting system, how do you turn off the engine? |saluteflag|

Having looked at one of the Convertibles up close I think all four are open, but I don't remember for sure!

I saw the C-6 live at the LA Auto Show. Off of each muffler it goes 1 for 2. Meaning a "Y". One 2 1/4" appox. opening outlet from muffler to a "Y" tip doing a false "dual outlet per muffler"

But it is functionaly.
