I am impatient to get a C6. However, supposedly the 6 speed automatic will not be available till the 2005 calendar year meaning the 2006 model year. What is GM's problem?

Then too it was announced that the 5.3 displacement on demand (DOD)for the trucks will not be until the 2005 model year and before the LS2 is available for the Vette. Then there is the case of the three valve head and of course the GM hybrids are way behind the Ford Escape and the Japanese. My point is that GM moves oh so slowly. What is their problem?

Regarding the 6 speed automatic transmission Dave Hill stated the C-6 2005 is getting an upgraded transmission now call 4L65E (C-5 is 4L60E) to handle the C-6 higher torque capacity. Which is only a 4 speed.

But the 5 speed or six speed transmission is not ready to handle the output from the LS2 engine(400HP). Your right its a little disappointing that there is only a 4 speed automatic transmission for the 2005 model.

Actually we think the 4L65E was slipped sometime into the 2003 C5. It's just that it is still a 4 speed.

By the way, they are also slow on the Trailblazer SS 6 liter too. A lowered suspension and the 345 HP Caddy version of the LS1 takes 3 years of engineering?

Totally agree its a 4 SPEED. Old technology.

4L65E is the electronic shift tranny in the Escalade AWD
