Vette(s): 1979 "Corvette Red" Coupe

Where is your most favorite place you've driven your Corvette?

I actually have three:

  1. "Tail of the Dragon." During the 2006 C3VR Member Gathering. Was the most fun and scariest ride I've ever done!
  2. Pocono Raceway.  I was able to drive my Vette on the quarter-track there during a driving course.
  3. Atlantic City Expressway.  During a "Kerbeck Corvettes Toys For Tots" run, back in the days when the Corvettes participating would all gathering at a rest stop along the Expressway, then would all depart at the same time with NJ State Police blocking traffic to allow us all out.  They also looked the other way as many Vettes tested the limits of their rides!  Me in my '79, I could only get to about 85 before it felt like it would fall apart!

Iron Mountain Road (Hiway 16A) in the Black Hills of South Dakota with it many twists, turns, U-switchbacks, several wooden pig-tailed bridges and one lane tunnels that you can see Mt. Rushmore through them when you drive through them.  The loop road through Badlands National Park in South Dakota is also a pretty good second.
