Vette(s): 03 6spd Coupe-quicksilver metallic-Corsa indy cat backs and X-pipe, Vararam, Baer Eradsipeed Plus one rotors, Billet Chrome Exhaust, lowered 1", 19" CCW 505A's (sweetest wheels on the planet), shortened shifter, cags delete.
Beautiful! Now where hearing it!!

Regarding the third brake light black surround piece. As you know they started selling this peice in the Parts Dept.

Any guesses that at some point GM will either integrate this in the molding process within the rear bumper section or just install it as seperate(like it is now) but, in the same body color at the plant during the build process.

Hi guys If you want some feedback, heres mine. I picked my yellow c6 nav 1sb polished wheels, casmere interior, xm, clear top monday in alabama. I live in michigan.
What a car. I have 1250 miles on it now. Friday when i drove home the car got 27 mpg. The car is tight, fast and draws way to much attention. The sound of the engine running at 70 mph is none existent, tach reads 2100 rpm.
I have 3.15 rear axle. I found no orange peel, body fit is excellent, looks as good as any car on the road, inside fit, feel and layout is excellent. I have noticed
that the right side of dash board does not line up perfectly with the side door panel. Wednseday i toured corvette plant in bowling green and talked to a repair tech about that fit issue. He told me the engineers were working on a fix for that. Be sides that the car is absolutely wonderful. No regrets about buying it. i work for gm so paying msrp kind of sucks but what are you going to do. Since I live in michigan i only have another 30 days to drive it before i park it for the winter. Hi zippy, i live about 40 miles north of you.

My Silver C6 will be 5 weeks old on Tuesday and I like it more every day. I have about 1500 miles with about 600 of them on Interstates when I left for one of the hurricanes which were headed my way. My only real complaint is that the hatch does not close the way I saw David Hill close it on the Discovery Channel program the other day. I can get it to work OK if a door is open or a window is open, but if everything is closed it has to be slammed instesd of just lowered as pictured in the video. There ought to be some way to relieve the air pressue which would allow it to operate correctly.

They could use an automatic system like I remember an old
Cadillac having. But probably not allowed in these times
as it would maybe sheer a childs finger off. (There those
darned kids are again.)

Vette(s): C6 Corvette Coupe, Machine Silver Metallic with Ebony Interior, 1SB Option Package, Automatic Transmission, 3.15 Ratio Rear Axle, Polished Forged Wheels, XM Satellite Radio, Sound System with Navigation, OnStar
I picked up my machine silver coupe last Wednesday, and drove it 2000 miles over the weekend - a round-trip from Dallas to Chicago. This car is definitely a 10! I've got the auto trans with the standard suspension, the 3.15 performance rear axle and polished-forged wheels. I also got the 1SB and all of the interior stuff . . . XM, Sound/Navigation, OnStar.

Drives great! I was impressed with the comparative quiteness of the car vs. C5's I've been in. Nice ride - certainly smooth enough for a luxury sports car, and I think as good as any car in this class. Great acceleration! Once I got past a reasonable 1,000 mile break in, I had the chance to take it up to 120 mph on an open, dry and wide stretch of highway. Acceleration from 80 to 120 was amazing, it seemed like a couple of seconds. Between 100 and 120, I felt like the car was just getting into its comfort zone. Stable and confident.

Problem is, at 120 the engine was just hitting 3400 rpm. What's a guy to do with the remaining 3000 rpm? Where can you take this car and really drive it?

To me, a couple of noteable things were that the seats were very comfortable, a definite improvement on the C5, and that the electronics (sound, navigation, etc.) are fabulous on a road trip. I played with the voice command system, and realize that when you learn to use this feature, it is more than a toy. Voice command is a great idea as you can keep your hands on the wheel and your eyes on the road. |bouncy|

The location of the front plate has concerned me too, but I found an alternative on EBay. I bid on one and plan to give it a try. Anyway, the copy reads:

"2005 C6 Alternate Front License Plate Bracket

This is the answer to the C6 License Plate problem. If you don't want to mount the License Plate on the top of the nose, this is the option for you. This has been designed to mount on the lower bumper. You can use double back tape, screws that will be unseen, or even Velcro. I have one on my car, everyone likes it much better than the stock one. Done let the dealer put the plate on!!!

This is built of Aluminum, and does not touch any surface of the lower bumper. It has rubber molding on under the top and behind the front of the unit. Patent Pending."

i picked up my precision red coupelast thursday it has the cashmere interior, navigation and xm. on star. still learning some of the tricks it can do for example the vocal command for the navigation system also will change the radio from fm to xm to am etc. simply by telling it what band you want it on . i also just found out the navigation system can also be directed by entering a phone # instead of an address.wonder what else it can do.it's getting so i can't wait to get up and drive to work each day. |eek|

Zippy....my comments are very much like yours....I have about 550 miles....all the positive things...lots of great stuuf. C6 is a blast.

BUT...let's look at the downsides too....Have any of you C6 owners with POLISHED WHEELS observed the very poor finish of the wheels?

The Polished Wheels on Two-of-Two new C6s (including mine) at my Dealer yesterday have a very inconsistent and "dull" look, with many areas, in the rim surround mostly (some spokes too), with what appears to be a lousy clearcoat in addition to over-buffed / scuff marks now preserved by the clearcoat! Not a pretty picture at all.

And, it's a $2,000 option here (RPO QG7).

When looking over several 3-4 year old C5s in at the dealer for service, their Polished Wheels all LOOKED close to Chrome finish (very nice)...and they were not chrome....just were truly bright as the polished wheels SHOULD be.

Anybody seen / heard of C6 Polished Wheel FINISH problems? It's not very classy on these C6 cars here!
(VINs up to ...103000).
