The pics are excellent, and it sure appears from viewing your site that your C6 Polished Wheels are good quality, although the naked eye beats all...but your long metals experience indicates that your wheels are most acceptable, certainly to your standards. Is it a "recent-build" C6?
A key in all this is the VIN range. Our Dealer's Service Manager and 30-year Body Shop Manager saw several very poor finish Polished Wheels in VIN 100500 to 103000.

My VIN ends with 102853, which is toward the end of the range you mentioned. I'm not certain of the build date as I misplaced the window sticker.
One thing is for sure, and that is that forged wheels should have a dense grain structure and very minimal porosity. Cast wheels will have more porosity because of gases that are present in the metal, also shrinkage porosity and perhaps some sub-surface inclusions. So, with these C6 polished wheels, people should be seeing a mirror-like surface, and one that holds its luster for a long time.
While my wheels do look good, it appears that some haven't been so lucky.

I've got to say that driving a C6 for three weeks now has been a real gas! A lot of you guys have had several sports cars, but with six kids I've always had to take into account having a vehicle that also serves as a kid taxi.
My last car was a compromise between a sports car and a family vehicle. It was a Lincoln LS V8 Sport - 284HP and some kick. It was also a fun car to drive but really no comparison to the C6.
Finally, I got to the point where I could buy a car just for me, and I'm really glad I chose the new Corvette.
It puts a smile on my face everytime I push the start button. It puts a smile on my face everytime I come out of a store and see it in the parking lot. And, it puts a smile on my face everytime I roar past someone on the freeway.
What more could you ask for?

I didn't look at the VIN to see when the polished wheel cars I saw were built.
I just received word that my C6 (with polished wheels) will be ready for delivery this Saturday. I can't wait. I'll report back on the wheels after I get it.
As for Conv production start date I was told it will be in December.
Thanks,
Mark

Nice quote there, Happy, go lucky.
Your input about the polished wheels is important and appreciated news.

happy said: It has arrived. The polshed wheels look great. I drive my C6 home from the Jersey shore yesterday. This monster pulls better than a big block. I can't believe how well this car does everything! |
...what's the VIN range now? (as of Oct. 23 delivery)
Please look at your Polished wheels very closely, and check for inconsistencies, cloudy shapes, less than stellar polishing/buffing. Appreciated....
