I have a 2005 Z51, 80,000 miles. Runs around town great. But on the track coming out of a turn and giving it throttle, at around 127-130 MPH the tach just starts to fall off, loosing speed. If I pump the gas pedal 2-3 times it picks up and goes again...

My mechanic wants to go with me, and see for himself, he says several things, spark plugs and wires, which are original. I have changed the air intake to a dual K&N, and it has Magna flow exhaust. Which all worked great up until a while ago. I've had the car to 143 and its still pulling.
Please, anything you can tell me I'm listening, thanks Jerry
Its been a few days and no response to my problem,, does this not happen to anyone else? If not then it figures, this is my luck...

It sounds like fuel starvation to me. How full of gas is your tank when you are out ??? When coming out of a turn, centrifugal force will send the gas to one side of the tank. If the pickup, or the fuel pump is clogged or dirty, it will starve out. You say you have 80k miles on it, so it is possible you have some contaminants or dirt in your fuel lines.
First off, thank you for responding to my problem... And I do believe you are on to something, if not having hit the nail on the head.... I was down to right between a 1/4 and 1/8 of a tank... I just checked to see about a filter and its inside the tank. On my 2000 I was told to run techron in the tank. Something about keeping the inside of the tank clean so the fuel gauge would work properly. Might it be a good idea to run a bottle through this car? I do use Lucas injector cleaner in the tank about every 3-5 thousand miles.

I notice you are on here a lot, and I always read your stuff, Thank you for the help.. I will let you know and keep the fuel level up around a half to 3/4 of a tank... Especially on the track.
Problem fixed, back to normal... I di order a new set of spark plugs, AC's and plug wires. Whats your thought on the chip that they sell for these cars? 20 minute installation and instant HP... Or anybody's take, and thoughts on the chips for the Corvette? Does the chip do nothing more than to reprogram the computer and make the car run lean? Which to me does not sound to safe. Or are people who think its the greatest thing since sliced bread. Which is fine with me, just looking for some opinions on extra HP

glad you got it fixed.
I prefer a custom tune over any chip.
