I was at my dealer today and there was a C5 on a lift next to my Blazer. The mechanic was not using the lift pads that attach to the slot in the frame. There was a slight compression of the inner fiberglass by the lift foot. Supposedly this is worse on the C6...fiberglass potential damage problems without the frame lift pads. Check with your dealer when you take yours in. Some owners have bought BMW lift pads for their own protection.

I think you'll find that most repair places, dealers included, will NOT have the frame pads for Corvette(C5/C6). Might be different by now, but, unless the dealer sells/services a lot of them, they just won't invest in the proper "tools". It's been this way for years...ain't likely to change any time soon.

I made a set of lift pads for use in my shop for the C5s...I've seen too many panels damaged without them...but...not everyone is as carefull about someone else cars... |cussing|
