In all my previous cars, the seat/shoulder straps allowed me to move freely - e.g. to bend forward to adjust radio or to look for cross traffic at a stop sign - until there was a sudden decceleration. I now find that I am locked back and prevented from doing these things even at a standstill. I cannot move freely again until I unlock the seatbelt and re-attach. I'll then be able to move freely for a short time, but then it locks me in again.
Is the C6 seatbelt system designed this way because of being in a high performance car, or is mine malfunctioning?
Thanks.

Frank,
I have noticed this too, but more when I accelerate quickly. Once they lock - that's it - they're locked.
I suspect that this is normal - I mean, I'd want to be nice and tight while driving fast - but it is annoying while cruising, isn't it?
I hope other members can shed some light on this. My dealer has only told me that this is part of the safety mechanism.
It would be nice to hear an official word on this though, huh? Maybe there is an emerging issue here?
