Survey: Detroit Slipping in Customer Satisfaction

A new study from the University of Michigan finds that Detroit automakers are slipping behind their competition when it comes to satisfying customers. The University of Michigan's American Customer Satisfaction Index finds that in one key measure - value for money - American brands are perceived as behind the Asian and European brands. The study argues that incentives are cheapening the image of American cars and though, while some buyers are staying with American brands because of the hefty rebates and financing deals, their next purchases will not be American vehicles. Some 20,000 vehicle owners nationwide were polled for the survey.
