Dual Mode Exhaust

does anyone know whether or not putting new mufflers on a 2008 corvette with dual mode exhaust affect the system at all. I'm thinking of putting a set of Flowmaster mufflers on, but don't want to mess with the dual mode exhaust.

Have you tried just pulling the fuse out for the dual mode exhaust? This will open up the valve that normally only opens when you're above 3000 RPM's.
 
Knowing that I liked the deeper/louder tone, my dealer had already pulled the fuse before I took delivery of my 2008 Convertible.  It sounds great to me w/o any added costs or modifications.

I would'nt change the muffler. The Flowmaters will not change the horse power. I would suggest the "Wild to Mild" module. This will connect to the fuse block on the passenger side. It also comes with a  key fobe to remotely turn it on and off. Search for it on Eckler's web site.

thank you for all the info. I just like flowmasters, and wanted to make sure it wouldn't affect the exhaust.

The dual mode exhaust is intergral with the muffler!  There is a butterfly in the center two exhaust extensions that opens when activated and essentially bypass the muffler internal.  All you need to do is use a $3 switch to control it on your own.  You can use an Add-A-Circuit for a few more dollars and make the installation a plug in.  I put full details on my web site: www.netwelding.com/details_vette_info.htm
