Dear C6VR members,

I hate to say it, but Social media has taken over for Forums to a large degree.

I think you are right and my suggestion is that you should throw in the towel. All of the activity is on the Corvette Forum and no one ever heard of anything else. I, for one, am not willing to spend the time on multiple forums for each of my interests. I do not even review all of the sub-forums that I used to.

I don't  thing there is ONE  answer............

I agree with what the other posters have said about there being numerous C6 and Corvette sites that are very popular.  Even though I own a C6, I also belong to C3VR and have for over 10 years.  I have many good friends there and have attended 4 of the annual member gatherings.  That is the site that I frequent most because it is the one I am more familiar with.   

I joined the C6 registry because of an overall interest in Corvettes. I don't have a C6, so my looking at the site is just that: interest, but not able to contribute anything of significance. I've noticed for a long time there are not many posts. Perhaps its because the Vettes are too reliable and don't have any problems to speak of. Perhaps they are so complicated that they have to be taken to a repair facility. Or, as stated, perhaps everyone is too busy being online social, which to my way of thinking is a big problem in this country.

I think as some of the members have stated in previous posts, that there is just too much media to go around. I haven't been on this site in ages.

I am in a similar situation.  I own a C5 ... but have general interest in C6 (I will eventually get another Corvette ... not sure if it will be a C5, C6 or C7.  Though I may not be able to contribute anything of significance (FROM MY OWN PERSONAL VANTAGE POINT), I have no problem posting information related to C6 - if I see it elsewhere online.

With regard to reliability ... and nothing to post ... I disagree.  Currently, the C6 is a relatively new vehicle.  Many C6's are still under warranty.  The 2005 models certainly are not under OEM warranty.  It's a matter of time before the majority of C6 owners will have work performed at facilities other than Chevrolet dealers.  I believe throwing in the towel on C6VR would be a huge mistake.  I believe the forum will start to pick up more activity as the C6's age. 

Adam - Knowing you have sponsors for this forum, would you consider asking vendors to post "points of interest" from time to time?  I am Secretary and Newsletter Editor of a local section of the Mercedes Benz Club of America.  I send out a monthly blog (not really a blog) ... called Monthly Mercedes Minute.  It is a compilation of links of general interest - as they related to Mercedes Benz in general.  The links may include a recall ... or a new model introduction.  In addition, it may also include information from a repair facility who brings awareness to current trends in the repair of late model MB's.  If we twist this concept to the C6 ... how 'bout a repair facility offer tidbits if they start to see (as an example) upper cylinder lubrication problems ... manual transmission issues ... anything along that line.

Corvettes are (perhaps) the most modified vehicle on the road.  Accordingly, I believe many people turn to websites with general Corvette interest ... such a CF.  I am a member on CF ... but do not look at the C1-C4 forums, nor do I look at the C6 Forum.  I have yet to look at the C7 forum, but may look to learn about the C7 (I am also a member on C7VR).  That being said, I see no difference between C6VR and the C6 section of CF ... with the exceptions of membership, and volume of posting ... and also ... CF has the ability to be click-ish.  Some people LIVE on those sites, and can be fairly rude to newbies.

It's a little harsh to say throw in the towel, or pack it up....easy to say if it's not your site, tho.
While I'll agree that most folks have gone to social media for their daily fix of tech forum life, I can't see that being the only reason. CF, CAC, and other forums still have activity. Perhaps it's the train wreck syndrome....see a train wreck, ya gotta look! I'm a member of several Corvette related forums, including the big name ones....and I can't/don't wanna spend any time there due to the BS, trash talkin, and other crap that goes on. Not my cup-o-tea.
Perhaps folks would rather be on a site/forum that doesn't care what anyone says/posts, and no-one has to take any responsibility for what they say/do....everyone is just anonymous. 
Like any other forum, it's the MEMBERS that make it happen. The site owner/Mods can't do it on their own....the MEMBERS have to participate.
Maybe we should start a flaming war here....that'll get EVERYONE'S attention....and proly lottsa participation....

Not really....but seriously, the members are responsible for the success, or failure of the forum, imho. If the core group of posters here don't participate, it's not likely any newer members will, either. So, I'll throw out a challenge to the long time members here.....and the new folks too...POST SOMETHING!!! Even if it seems trivial. Tell a story about an outing you had that was interesting, or a breakdown, or dealing with your local dealer/repair shop. Find something strange under the seat? Post it up!

Adam, I for one really like the forum, it has helped me several times. At the moment I am working on my house and have not been able to spend as time as I would like out in the garage. I need to post pictures of my cars. 2005 coupe and a 2000 Convertible,my wife and I love our cars. Keep up the good work.  Jerry
