Been reading the other post, I do not do face book, twitter, I do get on my laptop everyday. I guess that makes me ole school. I do text, and I do my best to help people with their problems on their cars, trucks and motorcycles. I am now retired from the following businesses, Automotive electrical, body and paint, full blown custom Harley motorcycle shop. I currently have a super nice Harley DWG for sale. Custom Bagger. If anyone interested, you can reply or ask for phone number. thanks again, and hey, don't give up. I'm also just now getting into hydrographics, which is pretty cool. I'm going to be 64 NOV, 21, and if anyone needs help with a question, Scorpioncycles.net@hotmail.com

Traffic is slow for all the Vette forums. CF is still busy, but I'd guess at a rate of 25% of the good old days. With the possible exception of Corvette Action Center, the rest of the forums aren't pulling their own weight. If I knew how to reverse the situation, I'd be a wealthy guy. You can point at other social media, but I don't think there is much of a Vette buzz anywhere, at least as a social catalyst.

Adam, I think that you're going up against Forums that have been around much longer. I can't tell you exactly what it is. Maybe the Corvette Forum is just esthetically more pleasing to the eye. My activity on both forums has decreased. It just seems that there's too much arguing when some one doesn't agree with a post. Maybe that's what you need more arguing........ I don't know how you go about getting sponsors but it looks to me as though you only have 4 or 5. It probably all goes hand in hand. Good luck. How is the C3 forum doing?

It's a good site.  I guess it's up to you as to how much time you want to spend on it.

I think the comments about other social media are pretty close to the mark.  FB seems to be the most common methodology for communication with friends near and far.  I've belonged to other forums before, but slowly over time, more often than not, communications are taking place over FB.

However there's also something to be said about creating a sense of community, which to me seems to be an easier task with a forum than it is with FB.  So maybe the solution isn't about the forum as much as it is the vehicle for the forum?

My point is this; Facebook, Tumblr, Instagram, Twitter, etc., all have one thing in common....  They can all be easily accessed via a cell phone app.

I'm not sitting at a desk every day (thank God) and when I get home I don't usually bury myself in my computer, but I almost always have my phone with me and whenever I get a ding or beep or whatever, I know there's an email, voice mail, or FB notification, waiting for me and I usually respond.  Hell, let's be really honest who here hasn't has a his phone or iPad with him while sitting on the John?  Now... think again... how many of us are likely to bring a laptop into a John?

So it's not about the forum per say, it's really about the ease and convenience of being able to access the forum.  Keep the forum going if you can, but improve the accessibility and I think you'll see a lot more activity.

It was my first site and continues to be the strongest one. Yet, that has been seeing a slow drop off as well.  I think the focus is shifting to social media sites, as many have mentioned above.  If I knew the traffic numbers for CF, and saw that they too were dropping over the years, I'd probably feel a little better that it isn't just me.

And making the site more mobile friendly is something I know I need to get working on.

Thanks everyone for the comments. Keep them coming!

I joined this forum about the same time I bought my new C6 and also joined CF then too.  Initially, there was much more activity on CF, so I stopped logging on to your site and spent all of my Corvette related time on CF.

I'm not a member of any of the social networks previously mentioned (Facebook, Twitter etc), so that's not a factor for me.  I have a BMW and Mercedes also, and spend a lot of time on one forum for each of the other brands of cars I have, but not more than one.  In my case, I have selected one forum for each car and I rarely visit other forums for these cars.  In the case of my C6, it is CF, because it had more activity when I was initially looking for a good Corvette forum.
Nothing personal, it's just the way it worked out.

I only visit C6VR when I get an e-mail from you, prompting me to visit, but I usually find no activity, so don't bother to return.

Having ordered a C7 in February I have been primarily been on the Corvette Forum site.  You’re correct in that more posts yield more posts.  Suspect I’ll wind down posting when all the issues or new items are added, as I did with my C6.

I don't know.  Sometimes these things aren't super user friendly.  I have been on the other forum and looked at things, but haven't posted anything because my 2012 convertible hasn't had any issues, other that the first month I had battery problems and I had a really hard time convincing dealer to replace the battery.  Eventually he did and it's been fine since then.  I have over 20,000 trouble free miles now, and tires still have some miles left in them.

I usually post Corvette Racing media material on this and 12 other Corvette forums.   Of these 12 forums maybe 4 of them are very active.  The other 8 has about the same or even less discussions than the C6vr forum!  Forums are important because it is easier to discuss in greater detail your particular post.  However a lot people do spend time on facebook, mainly just to see what "friends" are doing.   I think there are so many social media pages to choose from, so little time, that you just can't visit them all in an evening or week.  Not sure the solution as other forums are in a quieter mode than this one.  I would hate to see it closed but not sure how you are going to encourage more participation.  Does the C6 forum have a facebook page?
